GROWING IN LOVE

Growing in love is a very conscious choice. It’s like you’ve taken a boiling pot and let it simmer. There is a constancy to growing in love that falling in love can’t give you. The lid isn’t ready to blow off every few minutes because you’ve taken all that power and learned how to concentrate it in order to create something with the power to last without burning itself up.

GRACED WITH GIFTS, GROUNDED IN TRUTH AND GROWING IN LOVE

Today, many Christians are turning back to the puritans to, “walk in the old paths,” of God’s word, and to continue to proclaim old truth that glorifies Jesus Christ. There is no new theology. In our electronic age, more and more people are looking to add electronic books to their library – books from the Reformers and Puritans – in order to become a “digital puritan” themselves.

STEWARDSHIP AND STEALING

It might seem strange to speak of human beings robbing the Lord. He is sovereign over all and owns the whole creation, so how then can it be said that a person could steal from Him? Yet in forming a covenant with the Israelites, our Creator established them as stewards over His bounty, responsible to enjoy and manage that which was rightfully theirs. They were not, however, permitted to keep for themselves that which did not belong to them, which is what they were doing when they kept the tithes and offerings for the temple and priests for themselves (Mal. 3:6–9).

FROM TRIUMPH TO TRAGEDY

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
