EASTER - COMMUNION AND MEDITATION
Jesus said to the disciples, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.''
GOOD FRIDAY COMMUNION SERVICE
''For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.'' John 3:16-17 (ESV)
Almighty Father, look with mercy on this your family for which our Lord Jesus Christ was content to be betrayed and given up into the hands of wicked men and to suffer death upon the cross; who is alive and glorified with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
ISRAEL - CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE
''and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but 'Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.' This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring.'' Romans 9:7-8 (ESV)
MOSES AND THE GLORY OF GOD
Then Moses said, "Now show me your glory." And the Lord said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence... but," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live."
CHOOSING TO STAND IN THE GAP
In Ezekiel 22:30, the prophet says on behalf of God, “I looked for anyone to repair the wall and stand in the gap for me on behalf of the land, so I wouldn't have to destroy it. But I couldn't find anyone.” In the ancient world of the Bible, cities had walls surrounding them to provide protection from enemies.
CHOOSING TO STAND IN THE GAP
A dictionary defines “stand in the gap” as “to expose oneself for the protection of something; to take the place of a fallen defender or supporter.” Scripture shares numerous examples of people standing in the gap for others.
